People Dance to Live Music at Freespace Happening

People were treated to live music by local bands at Freespace Happening in West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong, on October 8th and 9th. They gathered on a lawn, dancing to music played by bands like Nowhere Boys and James’s Secret, to spend the three-day holiday.

Location: West Kowloon Cultural District, Hong Kong
Date: Oct. 9, 2016
Camerawomen: Jia YIzhen (for interview) and Zhang Boning (for others)
Interviewer: Zhang Boning
Subtitles translater: Jayson Paolo Albano
Camera use: Pannosonic GH4 (with tripod) & Canon 650D
Edited on: Adobe Premier CC

Log: Luckily, we got the permission from the event organizer immediately after we arrived there and set up our equipment. It’s hard to film music. The sound can be really hard to handle when editing. I used another camera this time to make sure that I got a variety shots while still keeping the music clear and consistent. Interviewing people in music event is also difficult because people are unwilling to leave their seat and the background music can be noisy. And the arresting music was really distracting for journalists. I cannot help always filming the performance and the audience. Everything felt insane and interesting. And I got to many footages by doing this.
